How the Louis Vuitton Cup changed the sport
The seminal brand took Dianna to its Louis Vuitton Purses Fiesso dArtico factory outside of Venice before styling her in some of its newest looks for Glamour Magazine. First time round: The dress is a souvenir from the star’s trip to Italy earlier this year where Dianna posed for a Louis Vuitton fashion shoot The dress was a clear favourite during the shoot, so it is no surprise she has chosen to rock the printed look again. She said to Glamour: ‘I’m usually low-key, but when LV dressed me, I felt somehow mischievous and fabulous at the same time. ‘But also, when I wore those gorgeous dresses and heels, I was reminded that, as an actress, the style choices I make influence how directors think of me. Theres power in fashion.’ Simple add ons: The 27-year-old accessorised her look with a pair of cross-hatched sandals, a big black designer bag and a pair of round framed sunglasses The star confessed she was not always into fashion – no doubt that has changed since landing the role of cheerleader Quinn Fabray on her hit show. She told the magazine: ‘I used to see clothes and shoes as just, well, clothes and shoes.

He also said this year’s competition continues another long tradition of the Louis Vuitton Cup. “We have great memories of the big personalities involved in the Cup,” Trouble said. “All of these big personalities are a key element in the legend of the America’s Cup.” The big personalities this year include Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison , whose team won the Cup in 2010 in Valencia, Spain; Swedish tycoon Torbjorn Tornqvist of Artemis Racing; sailing legend Grant Dalton of Emirates Team New Zealand; and Patrizio Bertelli , the Italian entrepreneur and head of the fashion house Prada, whose team is Luna Rossa. Bertrand, another big personality – and the Australian who ended the longest winning streak in sports for America in the waters off Newport, R.I., in 1983 – recalled that the first Louis Vuitton series was an “intense battle (that) allowed us to raise our performance level. But above all, we needed this new trophy in order to win the honor of racing against the defender and carrying on the adventure.” Bertrand and his team aboard Australia II won 48 of 54 qualifying races, and beat the British syndicate Victory 83 by 4 races to 1 in the finals to go up against defender Liberty, skippered by legendary American sailor Dennis Conner .

ONLY WATCH 2013 SPOTLIGHT: Louis Vuitton Louis Vuitton is proud to participate for the fourth time in the Only Watch Auction by offering a unique Tambour Spin Time Regatta watch, designed in collaboration with Paul Pettavino and the Louis Vuitton team, as for the past three editions. For this 2013 edition Paul has decided to change from the usual orange color into a blue and red color watch. Every detail has been chosen or designed by Paul, such as the gold boat hand engraved and covered with enamel, or the LV logo painted on the Damier canvas trunk that comes with the watch. In 2010, Louis Vuitton introduced an innovative and playful way of reading the time with the Tambour Spin Time. Its secret: the hours are revealed by cubes rotating thanks to a unique and patented mechanism. Building on this iconic movement developed and manufactured in La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton enriched the Spin Time collection in 2012 with a model dedicated to regattas: the Tambour Spin Time Regatta. This innovative patented movement (LV156) offers two functions: chronograph and regatta five-minute countdown; visually indicated on the dial by five rotating cubes. Following the new Americas Cup rules of a regatta start in five minutes, the Spin Time Regatta allows the skippers and crew to position themselves in the best possible way on the starting line during the five-minute countdown.
“Unfortunately with national and international brands the eastern states are often the place they want to begin the opening of their businesses in and then they will move onto other states. “I think all of those brands will open in Adelaide over the course of the next two-to-three years and I think from a negotiation point of view, ultimately the first step with a luxury retailer is usually to identify the site that they want to be in.” With Tiffany joining luxury Italian fashion house Max Mara along North Terrace, the city’s cultural boulevard is tipped to become the home of luxury shopping in the city. Luxury international retailers require minimum shopfronts of at least 10-to-15 metres, ruling out traditional retail precincts like Rundle Mall that have been subdivided into smaller stores. One CBD property owner who preferred not to be named confirmed he was also in talks to secure Chanel and Louis Vuitton a site in Adelaide. “Typically the international luxury brand retailers look for prominent street-fronted locations like North Terrace and it would be highly unlikely that they would seek a position on Rundle Mall frontage,” he said. Topshop Topman group marketing director Prue Thomas said the entry of the UK fashion chain into Adelaide would rely on the company finding the right location. “Topshop and Topman are very keen to continue to secure premium large format retail positions nationally and Adelaide features high on our wish list, providing the right site presents itself,” she said. Earlier this month Topshop announced it would open its fourth Australian outlet in Brisbane in December. Mr Bonett said Tiffany &Co. would spend close to six months preparing a fit out for its new Adelaide store before an opening in the second half of next year.
